Trekked out in the rain today to glimpse the Earth Day Rally/Concert on the Mall and to visit the “Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color, and Space" exhibit at the Hirshhorn.
"Suprasensorial" consists of a few large-scale, interactive art installations such as "Blue Penetrable BBL," a forest of blue nylon strings you can walk through [a woman in a bright yellow dress was having her picture taken in it after I walked by- the colors were stunning!], and "Chromosaturation," a series of pristine white rooms lit by neon bulbs in the primary colors, spreading a fantastic blend of color across every surface in the exhibit. Visitors even wear shoe covers to keep the white surfaces at their glowing-est.
I snatched a few pictures from around the web to show you (my camera’s broken/phone cameria is terrible), because it’s a pretty neat exhibit if you get a chance to experience it!
